About the Riverview Family

The Riverview Family

The family here at Riverview strives to maintain the closeness and love for one another that Jesus talks about in

John 13:34-35 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

First established in 1947 on Sharon Place in Oildale. The present building on East Roberts Lane was completed in 1985.

Our Biblical Foundation

We follow no doctrine or creed except the Bible. In all things we endeavour to follow the instructions and examples of Jesus, the apostles and early Christians. We live and worship according to our understanding of the Bible without adding our opinions, human logic or what some call "necessary inferences". We believe the Bible was given to us to understand and follow in context without looking for secret codes or profound meaning hidden between the lines. The phrase, "Speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent", has long been associated with the churches of Christ.
